Andy Wilson
I'm the supervisor of the Resiliency Section at the Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice Training (DOCJT), where I oversee the Kentucky Post-Critical Incident Seminar (KYPCIS). My involvement with KYPCIS began as a participant in the Military KYPCIS in 2019. I returned as a peer in 2021 and joined the Resiliency Section in 2023, where I now have the privilege of leading the program and supporting first responders through critical incident recovery and peer support.
Before joining DOCJT, I served as an Infantry officer with the 187th Infantry Regiment in the U.S. Army, completing two combat deployments to Iraq. Following my military service, I became a police officer with the Clarksville Police Department in Tennessee, serving as a patrol officer, field training officer, and K-9 handler with a dual-purpose police dog.
I joined DOCJT in 2015 as an instructor in the In-Service Training Section before transferring to the Tactics Section, where I trained recruits in traffic stops, building clearing, and active shooter response. I later served as supervisor of the Law Enforcement Operations Section before transitioning into my current leadership role in the Resiliency Section.
Outside of work, I enjoy exploring back roads and trails in my Jeep, fishing whenever I get the opportunity, and spending the fall traveling across Kentucky with my daughter as she competes in marching band competitions.
