Stephanie Terry

My career in public safety began with the Kentucky State Police, where I worked in the Drug Enforcement/Special Investigations Branch. I later joined the Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice Training (DOCJT), where my work has included instructional design, learning technology, training support, and resiliency.

As a member of DOCJT’s Resiliency Section, I help coordinate the Kentucky Post Critical Incident Seminar (KYPCIS) and support the many details involved in making each seminar possible. What I value most about this work is the opportunity to collaborate with an incredible team of people who are deeply committed to supporting the officers, telecommunicators, and families we serve.

I earned my bachelor’s degree from Eastern Kentucky University and am currently pursuing a master’s degree in Instructional Design and Learning Technology at EKU. I also have a background in fitness and wellness, which has strengthened my interest in the connection between physical health, stress management, recovery, and resilience.

My work with KYPCIS has given me a deeper understanding of the unique challenges that can accompany a career in public safety and the importance of having meaningful support when it is needed most. I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to a program that provides connections, resources, and support to Kentucky’s public safety professionals and their families.
