My law enforcement career began in 1997 with the Grayson Police Department in Carter County, Ky.

Since my graduation from the Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice’s Basic Training Class 265 in 1998, I joined the Kentucky State Police and graduated from the Kentucky State Police Academy’s Class 77 in 2000.

I spent my entire Kentucky State Police career assigned to Post 9 in Pikeville, serving in a variety of roles before being promoted to sergeant in 2016. I retired in 2019 as a detective sergeant, but my commitment to serving Kentucky's communities continued. In December 2020, I returned to the Kentucky State Police as a Trooper R assigned to Post 14 in Ashland.

In April 2022, I joined the Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice Training as an instructor, where I currently serve in the Resiliency Section.

I attended Kentucky PCIS No. 2 in 2018 following a line-of-duty death. That experience reinforced the importance of peer support and caring for those who dedicate their lives to serving others. It is an honor to be part of the Kentucky PCIS team and to support first responders and their families.
