Angela Childers

I joined Kentucky Post-Critical Incident Seminar (KYPCIS) as a mental health professional in June 2018 and have not missed a seminar since. In 2019, I joined the Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice Training, where I became a KLEC-certified instructor, teaching both basic and in-service training. I also serve as the Clinical Director for KYPCIS, providing clinical services, developing and evaluating wellness programs and curriculum, and advising agency leadership on mental health training and policies that support Kentucky's law enforcement community.

I specialize in the treatment of trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), moral injury, cumulative stress, grief, sexual trauma, combat trauma, and abuse, utilizing Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. I also work closely with our peer support team to provide guidance and assistance following critical incidents. My experience serving law enforcement officers, first responders, telecommunicators, military personnel, veterans, and their families allows me to deliver care tailored to the unique demands of public safety and military service.
